Believe it or not the holiday season is fast approaching. I can almost taste the turkey and stuffing now! Here at Web Station we will do our best to give our fellow tech savvy friends some interesting gift ideas. Upon my browsing of the inter-webs I stumbled upon a "why didn't I think of that?" product. The company is called Freehands. They make and sell gloves that are in response to the growing touchscreen phone / tablet market.
Unless you live in a year round warm climate I would be willing to bet most of you have experienced the inconvenience of getting a call after being bundled up, only to have to remove your gloves to answer and get near frost-bite! I know personally I've been on the chairlift when snowboarding thinking I'd like to check my iPhone but really don't want to deal with removing a glove only to be cold and possibly drop it into the below white abyss!
Freehands come in multiple styles for men and women and are at a good price point, ranging from $18-$80, (most in the $20-$40 range.) Features include detachable index and thumbs that are conveniently held back with magnets. They do offer an interesting "Power Stretch" model that features silver plated polyamide tips on all fingers to conduct electrostatic energy to your tablet! This means you don't have to expose any of your precious digits to use your device.
So, Santa if you are listening, I'll take a pair..or 2 of these for Christmas!
