About.com Readers Choice Awards 2010

February 5, 2010 by Glenn Boothe 0 Comments

We have been lucky enough to have three websites nominated and accepted in the About.com Readers Choice Awards.

The History

Last year we won for best use of images for Traci Zeller's website and blog about being an Interior Designer here in Charlotte. We also took second place in the e-commerce category for TikesTime.com - an e-commerce website with a focus on giving back to the community. You can read more about last years results in this post.

1. Best Use of Images

I want to start with best use of images since we won that one last year and we would LOVE to repeat!

Performance Engineered Systems

This company is all about high performance and the images used throughout the site (especially on the homepage) convey this immediately. When you visit this site there is no mistaking what they do and the level at which they do it. This site isn't just about beautiful cars and photography though - there is also a huge engine under the proverbial hood with a robust database holding all the car data with a jQuery powered UI.

 2. Best Information Page Design

Faslist.com - This is one of the newest sites that we have launched here at Web Station and we are very proud of it.

Faslist is a community of contributors devoted to finding the best lists available and putting them all in one place. The key to the design of this website was to pack all that data into something that looked great and followed good useability standards. There is extensive use of jQuery and AJAX behind the scenes to manage all that data while providing the best possible user experience.

Don't forget to register on this site yourself so you can create your own list or contribute to an existing list and let the world know what is important to you!

3. Best Product Page Design

Products For Good - making yet another appearance. As always I can't say enough about this company and their mission.

Products for Good has a mission to donate 20 million dollars to charities that benefit wounded and fallen soldiers and their families. We have been working with PFG for about 5 years now and they continuously amaze me with their devotion to their mission.

You can catch them every week on John Boy and Billy's The Big Show to get their latest updates.
